Hestia

For the pendant Hestia, glass and metal were combined in such a way that a special and extraordinary structure was created in the glass. The metal alloy was dissolved into different components by the heat of the liquid glass and was distributed in the glass when the mould was blown up. Thus the metal or its components seem to float between two layers of glass and give not only the glass but also the light emitted an extraordinary effect and special bokeh. The lampholder is correspondingly made of burnished steel and therefore forms a material and intellectual unity with the manufacture and appearance of the lamp.
The form of old amphoras served as inspiration and the lamp should not illuminate the room brightly, but should resemble cosiness and a warming glow of fire through its warm colour. Hestia, the Greek goddess of hearth fire, served as the eponym. The luminaire is height-adjustable without tools at its suspension, equipped with an E27 lampholder and the bulb is chosen to emit its light in all directions.
